Crosby Has a Girlfriend (sort of…)

“Crosby, do you have a girlfriend?”

“Well, sort of, Buddy. It’s complicated.”

“What do you mean, it’s complicated? Who is she? I think I saw pictures of her on Mom’s phone. She’s pretty.”

“Yes, Buddy, she’s beautiful. She has long, silky hair like me, and a big bushy tail like me – except hers looks like it was dabbed in a bucket of black paint! Her name is “Floof”. Here’s some pictures of her.”

Hi Crosby!

“OOOH, SHE’S BEAUTIFUL, CROSBY! Where does she live? Was she an orphan like me?

“Yes she was an orphan, Buddy. Floof lives in Pennsylvania. She was found outside as a tiny kitten in December 2019 with an adult boy cat.
A nice lady took them inside to warm them up and feed them. Then she contacted a local rescue that shared a post on Facebook about the 2 cats needing a home. A friend of Mom’s (we call her “Aunt Marcy”) and her granddaughter, Lily, fell in love with “Baby Floof”, as she was called. They had 2 other cats, “Peanut” and “Baby Kitty”, and weren’t sure if they would get along with this new tiny kitten. But they went to meet her, and adopted her on the spot! It took a few days for her to get used to her new home. “Baby Kitty” liked her right away, but “Peanut” was not having any part of this new little fluff ball. It took him awhile, but now they all get along. As she got older, they dropped the “Baby” part of her name, and just call her “Floof”. She loves to watch the birds, sleeps next to Aunt Marcy at night. She’s not much of a lap cat – like you!”

Floof and Adult Cat Found With Her

“Do you get to go visit her, Crosby?”

“No, Buddy. We have what’s called a long-distance romance. She lives almost 12 hours away, so it’s too long of a car ride for either of us to make. So we just share photos on our mom’s phones with each other. But I still love her.”
