Ever wonder why your cat sleeps covering his face sometimes? Buddy has some answers…

1) To keep the light out. I don’t like light glaring in my face and interrupting my sleep. This helps me sleep soundly.
2) It’s just a comfortable place for me to put my paws when I am in a deep sleep.
3) In colder weather, it’s a way for me to keep my nose warm.
4) It’s my way of saying “Don’t bother me – I’m sleeping!! The “Do Not Disturb” sign is on. My sleep time is precious between playing with Crosby, watching birds, chasing ping pong balls, checking on Mom & Dad…

Cats are most active during dawn and dusk, and in between, they sleep in short bursts, often only minutes at a time.
They’re always on constant alert, ready to run, hide, or attack if a predatory shows up.
Because of this natural instinct to sleep for short periods in case of attack, sleeping times are precious. They don’t want to be disturbed by things like harsh light or the cold — this is where the paws come in.
