Hi there! We’re the BACK IN BLACK BABIES! We are named after things that are black. We have been bottle fed from a very young age after our mama developed mastitis and couldn’t nurse any longer. We are all super loving and trusting of humans – we pretty much flop over when we are held, because we love it so much.

Here are some fun facts about black cats:

Sailors used to bring us on board to catch mice back in the day. Only black cats, because we were believed to bring good luck….NOT BAD!

Because the black gene is dominant, this is why there tend to be more black kittens born than other color combinations.

Most black cats are actually tabbies. If you look close on most black cats, you can make out the striping or ticking pattern. You can really see it on 8-Ball!

While there is no proof that black cats have more loving personalities than other cats, there IS proof that once people own black cats, they will always seek out black cats to adopt because of their history of being loyal, sweet cats.
