“At The Gym”

” Crosby, what are Mom and Dad doing? They are pedaling and walking, but not going anywhere!”
“It’s called exercising, Buddy. When it’s raining or too cold to be outside, these machines help keep your heart beating strong, lungs pumping in fresh air and help keep you healthy!”
“Why don’t you try it, Buddy? Dad will show you how to do it.”
“OK, Buddy. I will stop the treadmill so you can get on it. Then, when it starts moving, just start walking or running like you normally do.”
“OK, Dad, I’m ready – start it up!”
“Look, Crosby, I’m doing it!!! I’m walking and exercising!”
“That’s great, Buddy! But you need to stay on the moving belt – you are too far forward. Now, Dad has to adjust the belt and move it to the center. “
“OK. I’ve got the instructions right here on how to do it. Ready, Dad?”
“Mom, tell Dad he has to turn the machine off before he can fix it!”
“It says so right here – stop the treadmill. Then you take the funny looking wrench called Allen, and you turn it to the right if you need to move the belt to the right, or turn Allen to the left if you need to move the belt to the left. It’s all spelled out right here in the instructions. “
“Good job, Buddy. What are you doing under the pool table?”
“Sharpening my toofs on this rubber thingy. “
“Buddy, QUIT THAT! They use that bridge to play pool. I am waiting for the game to start now. “
“Fine. I will sit here to get a ride on the ‘row, row, row your boat’ machine. This exercising stuff is hard!”
